About Michael Sloski
Toronto-based drummer, Michael Sloski, has performed and recorded with many of Canada’s top musicians, including Bruce Cockburn, The Cameo Blues Band, Mary Margaret O’Hara, The Arrows, Holly Cole, The Domenic Troiano Band, The Dexters, Prairie Oyster, Strangeness Beauty, Danny Brooks and the Rockin’ Revelators, Bill King’s Saturday Night Fish Fry, and has enhanced the sound on countless pop, rock and blues recordings at North America’s most prestigious studios.
Michael currently performs with Anderson/Sloski, a critically acclaimed Hammond organ and drum duo. Their first CD, Footwork, (www.makeitrealrecords.com) has been played extensively on the CBC, Galaxie and national blues radio. They have received Maple Blues nominations in their categories for the last two years.
Michael has helped propel the popular Mississippi Hippies into the hardest driving blues-rock unit on the festival circuit today. He is the backbone for the All Star Ray Charles Tribute featuring Shakura S'Aida and John Mays that has wowed audiences since 2005. Michael also plays with the re-united Toronto legendary 60s R&B band, Jon Finley and the Checkmates/Rhinoceros.
